Raise Your Standards: Why Self-Care Is Bigger Than Skincare

I built Rebel Palm because I couldn't find it.

I train. I built a business. I dial in my diet for how I perform and how I think — not for a photo, but because I've felt what the right inputs do and what the wrong ones cost. I hold a standard in every part of my life, and I hold it on purpose.

Then I'd go to buy skincare, and the standard fell off a cliff.

What I Kept Finding

I'd turn the bottle over — the way I read a food label — and it was the same story every time.

Water as the first ingredient. Emulsifiers and fillers to bulk it out. Parabens and cheap synthetics to keep it cheap. A trace of something active, present in a dose too small to do anything, sitting near the bottom of the list so it could be named on the front.

And then the part that actually got to me: one natural ingredient somewhere in the formula, and the whole thing called luxury, natural skincare. Dressed in beautiful packaging. Priced like it earned it.

It hadn't. It was the cheapest possible formula, wearing an expensive costume, sold to people who trusted the front of the label and never read the back.

I read the back. And I couldn't accept it — not from the thing I was about to put on the largest organ I own, every single day.

Everything Is Connected

Here's why it bothered me more than it should.

I don't keep my life in separate boxes. The food, the training, the recovery, the business — they're one system. The way I treat myself in one area is the way I treat myself in all of them. Raise the standard in one place and it pulls the others up with it.

Skincare was the one place where I was being asked to lower mine.

That's the gap Rebel Palm exists to close. Not louder marketing. A formula that finally holds the same line I hold everywhere else.

What "Concentrated" Actually Means

Most skincare is built around water because water is cheap and water is easy. It fills the bottle, cuts the cost, and lets a brand claim a big number on a small amount of anything that matters.

Rebel Palm is built the opposite way. Water-free. No water means no emulsifiers to hold an unstable mix together, no preservative system propping up a breeding ground, no filler taking up space. What's left is the part that does the work: concentrated botanical lipids the skin actually recognises and uses.

Every drop is working. That's not a slogan — it's just what's left when you take out everything that was only ever there to make the product cheaper.

What It Leaves Behind

This is the part you feel.

A few drops is the whole dose — you'll use too much at first, because every other product trained you to. It absorbs fast and clean. No grease, no shine, no film between you and your shirt. What it leaves isn't a layer of product sitting on top of your skin. It's the skin itself: conditioned, satin, radiant, healthy-looking. The finish the best skin has, and the one most formulas only photograph.

It does what I wanted it to do in the first place. Nothing more. Definitely nothing less.

Why Appearance Still Matters

I'm not going to pretend it doesn't.

Not because your worth is visual, and not because you owe anyone a performance. But because how you look after yourself shows. Conditioned skin reads as care. The same way posture reads as energy and grooming reads as discipline. People pick it up before you've said a word — it's information, whether you meant to send it or not.

I didn't want to look perfect. Perfection is fragile and exhausting. I wanted to look cared for — present, intentional, not neglected. That was always the standard. I just couldn't buy it, so I made it.
